There are many writers who have either come from the area or have been inspired by the area. From as far back as early 1900 with our own Niall mcGiolla Bhride who wrote poetry and books about his life in Creeslough.

And the town has produced top quality musicians and singers from Bridie Gallagher who used to sing lead for the local Ceili Band called the Cleveland Quintet in the Dance hall in Creeslough before becoming a professional to more recent singers such as Ailish McBride.
